1. Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to TalentKin, LLC ("TalentKin," "we," "us") and to our products: the JobNugget Chrome / Edge browser extension, the JobNugget Desktop application for Windows and macOS, and the talentkin.com website. By using any of these, you agree to the practices described below.

If you do not agree with this policy, please don't install our extension or use our applications.

2. Information we collect

We've designed JobNugget to be as local-first as possible. Here is the complete list of what we have access to:

From the browser extension

From the website

If you email us

3. What we don't collect

For the avoidance of doubt, JobNugget does not:

4. Third-party services

JobNugget depends on one third-party service to do its job: Anthropic (the maker of Claude AI).

How Anthropic is involved

When the extension scores a job listing or classifies an email, it sends the relevant text (job description, your resume summary, or email contents) directly from your device to Anthropic's API. Your own Anthropic API key authenticates the request. This data does not pass through any TalentKin server.

Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy and terms, which you accepted when you created your Anthropic account. We recommend reviewing them: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Dice, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor)

The extension reads job listing content directly in your browser as you visit these sites. We don't have a relationship with these companies, don't share data with them beyond what your normal browser sends, and don't bypass their access controls or login requirements.

5. Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following items in your browser's local storage:

You can clear all of this at any time by either using the extension's "Reset all data" option in Settings, or by uninstalling the extension (which removes everything in chrome.storage.local automatically).

6. Job board interactions

When you have the extension installed and you visit a supported job board, JobNugget reads the listings visible on the page (the same way your browser already does to display them to you), fetches the full job description for each listing, and sends that text along with a summary of your resume to Anthropic for scoring.

The extension does not log in to your job board accounts, doesn't apply to jobs on your behalf, doesn't post or message anyone, and doesn't modify the pages you visit beyond inserting its own UI overlay (the fit score badges, filter banners, etc.).

7. Email Triage (Desktop app)

The JobNugget Desktop application (Windows / macOS, currently in development) connects to your email account using credentials you provide and uses IMAP to read your inbox. As with the browser extension:

This Privacy Policy will be updated as the Desktop app moves from development to public release.

8. Security

Because JobNugget stores sensitive items (your API key, resume, email credentials) locally on your device, the security of that device is critical. We recommend that you:

If you discover a security vulnerability in JobNugget, please report it to [email protected].

9. Your rights and choices

Because we don't collect or store your personal data on our servers, most data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercised by you directly on your device:

If you've contacted us by email and want us to delete that correspondence, write to [email protected] and we will do so within 30 days.

Residents of California (CCPA / CPRA), the EU and UK (GDPR), and other jurisdictions with similar laws have additional rights that we honor where applicable. To exercise any of them, contact us at the address below.

10. Children's privacy

JobNugget is intended for adults conducting a professional job search. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve — for example, when the Desktop app launches publicly, or if we add a feature that changes what data is handled. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and (for material changes) we'll notify users inside the extension and on the website.

Continued use of JobNugget after a policy update means you accept the revised policy.
